Description of Services:
We provide inpatient and outpatient investigational drug dispensing services for Columbia University Medical Center, and The New York Presbyterian Hospital.
We are equipped to admix, compound, package, dispense, blind, randomize, and manage dosage forms for clinical trial use. Additionally the Research Pharmacy will handle drug ordering, inventory, accountability, destruction, recalls, and return shipments for study drug products. We can also assist in the development, compounding, and testing novel investigational drug product formulations.
We are fortunate to be a part of the Clinical Trials Translational Science Award (CTSA). In support of that award we provide training, project planning, and project management assistance for CTSA Investigators. This is especially important for junior investigators navigating their way through the clinical trials process for the first time.
We also provide dispensing services to CTSA Investigators. This includes inpatient and outpatient dispensing, clinical trial drug kits, and formulation guidance. We are available to assist with the design and implementation of pharmacokinetic studies (minimum sample strategies, intra-species dose projections, first in man dosing strategies, dose escalation), and can analyze pharmacokinetic data using non-compartmental, compartmental, population and other methods
